Greetings Friends and Family, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! So, here we are nearing the close of another year. This has been a mixed year for our family with many challenges and blessings. First, it seems that God needs to keep re-teaching Danielle and I that being challenged is a good thing and that is how He keeps us growing closer to Him, our Lord and Savior. Our biggest challenge has been trying to be content where we are currently planted. It is no secret that our desire has been and continues to be to re-join our team in Chile. Most days this is no problem; other days we really miss being in active ministry in Chile and get a bit emotional. This can be set off by the most random and innocent things. A couple of months ago, I (David) made some “pan amasado," a traditional Chilean bread because I missed it. While I was measuring ingredients, I was overtaken by emotion and memories of friends with whom we had shared this bread with while in Chile and I had to pause for a while. Danielle has had many similar moments like this also. As disconcerting as these events can be, we both agree that they are God’s way of nudging us along so we don’t get too comfortable in the USA. There is a great need for us to be in Chile as soon as possible to help with the work in Viña del Mar. A blessing has been that we have been in the USA to continue adjusting to life after the death of David’s mom. It has been over a year now and we are glad we were here to deal with this loss properly, surrounded by family and friends. It would have been strange if we had to have gotten back on an airplane to Chile without having dealt with the emotions that come from the loss of a loved one. So, even though we dearly want to be in Chile, God’s providence is greater and we are glad for that. We could go on with a list of blessings and challenges, but the point is, that our God is great and He has reached down to His creation with His grace and mercy. Let us all remember in the holiday season that this is all about God becoming a man in the form of a baby, the King of Kings, to save the world and us (you and me) from our sins. Hallelujah Jesus!! As we approach 2016, perhaps you would like to make a year-end donation to our ministry. Remember all donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be sent to you by Mission to the World. Please just click here to go to our donation page or you can visit www.grottonsinchile.org and go to the give & pray page and follow the link there. We pray that you and yours have a blessed holiday season and that a great new year is at hand. Yours in Christ, David and Danielle
