"The Gospel & Disability Conference" On Saturday, June 30, Pastor John Rug, the Director of CEMIPRE and fellow MTW missionary, and local pastor, Caleb Fernández, will present a conference on “The Gospel and Disability”at the Presbyterian Church of Valparaíso (Chile). The emphasis will be on establishing networks for ministering to individuals affected by disability.
Invitations have been made to manychurches across the region, as well as to folks who are already doing some type of ministry among the special needs community. The host church, which will celebrate its 150th anniversary next year, has an established special needs ministry and continues to seek new ways to reach out. In a culture where disability is still viewed by many as punishment by a distant, angry god, members at the Presbyterian Church of Valparaíso are making it known that they welcome individuals touched by disability and want them to have access to the Gospel. Recently, they started to offer sign language interpretation of the Sunday services! The benefits of an event like this could be tremendous! We see like-minded churches coming together with a desire and a passion to welcome the “differently enabled” and their families. And then those same churches collaborating to reach even more members of this overlooked group. We want to minimize the barriers that exist in sharing the Gospel. Full inclusion and participation of people affected by disability and their families in the church! This event is an answer to a prayer that has been prayed from the inception of CEMIPRE, nearly fifteen years ago. All of us involved with CEMIPRE are very excited about what this opportunity represents and what it could mean. Please continue praying that other local churches would be excited about taking the Gospel to a whole communityof people right in their midst. Would you join us in praying?

Sorry...
Didn't mean to shout... But we're pretty excited over here! 🤩 🤝 Thank you to our 51 financial partner families and 13 financial partner churches! We are so grateful for the Lord uniting our family with you in a common ministry to the marginalized of Chile. Just 25% to go. If you’ve considered partnering with us but weren't sure when the right time would be to go ahead and make a decision, NOW is the time! Note: No funds need to be donated immediately, although it does help with our one-time expenses. But we cannot return to Chile without 100% of our budget pledged in writing. Recording your pledge is fast, easy & secure via MTW. Enter an amount in the box in the top right corner of your browser, click GIVE and indicate that it is a "recurring donation" and select how often you intend to make this gift (including when it should start). We’re happy to meet with you or schedule a call to discuss any questions you might have as you pray over the opportunities for you to be involved in Chile among the differently enabled and their families. Prayer Request We travel from North Carolina to Alabama tomorrow. Would you pray for a couple of meetings we have next week in Birmingham, Alabama?
Thanks for your time, prayers and giving! In Christ, David & Danielle |
